RIDMN Course: A Training Program Dedicated to the Regulation of Digital Medical Devices

Established in 2025 as part of the Master’s program in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Health Products, the “International Regulation of Digital Medical Devices (RIDMN)” track offers specialized training focused on the regulatory framework for digital medical devices throughout their entire lifecycle.

It combines theoretical and practical instruction, as well as close collaboration with industry experts, to train professionals capable of addressing the challenges of innovation, regulatory compliance, and security in a rapidly evolving field.

Available as both a degree program and an apprenticeship, the program also has an international component.

Co-led by Professors Cécile Le Gal Fontès and Xavier Garric, this program is designed for students majoring in pharmacy, medicine, biology, biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology, as well as for those holding a degree in pharmacy, medicine, or veterinary medicine; pharmacy or medical residents; and engineers or master’s degree holders in computer science.

Organized under the auspices ofthe University of Montpellier’s Digital Health School (ENSbyUM), the creation of this program is part of a response to a Call for Expressions of Interest from the France 2030 Investment for the Future Program, titled “Skills and Professions of the Future, ” launched at the national level.
