HDR for bi-partners
The "habilitation à diriger des recherches" recognizes the candidate's high scientific level, the originality of his or her approach in a field of science, his or her ability to master a research strategy in a sufficiently broad scientific or technological field, and his or her capacity to supervise young researchers. In particular, it qualifies candidates for access to the body of university professors", decree of November 23, 1988 on habilitation to direct research - modified by the decree of February 13, 1992, by the decree of July 13, 1995, by the decree of April 25, 2002.
Registrations for the habilitation to supervise research at the University of Montpellier are organized in one campaign for dual students in the spring. The precise dates for each stage and all the information you need to put together your application are detailed on the university website.
The UFR's research commission is a consultative body for preliminary examination of applications and proposal of rapporteurs. It interviews candidates and issues an opinion on applications to the DRED.
The research commission's criteria for authorizing the defense of the HDR include the following:
- Supervision or co-supervisionof Master's and DES (research year) students, and at least 1 PhD co-supervision (minimum 50%), with at least one publication as co-author.
- The quality and quantity (around 15) of publications , with a significant number in useful rankings (first-second and last-but-not-last) published in international peer-reviewed journals (ACL with IF > 1). Patents and other value-adding activities are also noteworthy.
- Scientific outreach (including oral presentations at conferences, seminars and lectures)
- The track record shows an autonomous career path, with the resources required to carry out research, the development of national and even international collaborations, and responsibility for all or part of research projects.
- The candidate presents a clear and realistic research vision that is likely to generate doctoral projects.
