Film-debate on the Mediator affair with Irène Frachon
The Faculty of Pharmacy is organizing a film-debate evening around Emmanuelle BERCOT's film "La Fille de Brest" on October 7 at 8pm in Amphithéâtre A.
The debate with Irène FRACHON, lung specialist and whistleblower in the Médiator affair, will be moderated by Cécile LE GAL FONTES, Professor at the University of Montpellier.
Free admission
Light refreshments will be served before the screening from 7pm.

Mediator, marketed in 1976 for the treatment of diabetes, but widely misused as an appetite suppressant, was widely prescribed in France and the rest of the world. Withdrawn from the market in 2009, after a link with heart damage and pulmonary hypertension was established by lung specialist Irène FRACHON, a high-profile trial followed, with an appeal verdict handed down a few months ago.
Irène FRACHON's career as a whistle-blower and a key player in this long-running case is the subject of a feature-length film that traces the ins and outs of this extraordinary health and legal chronicle.
