After Hours Innovation: The 6th edition, focused on innovation in medical devices

The 6th edition of After Hours Innovation was held on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at the Faculty of Pharmacy in Montpellier, bringing together a large audience to discuss current and future challenges in the field of medical devices.

Organized by the DMCC track of the Master’s in Health Engineering, BIOTIN from the Master’s in Biology and Health, and RIDMN from the Master’s in Pharmaceutical and Health Product Sciences, in partnership withthe Institute for Innovation in Medical Devices (I2DM), the Chair in Innovation and Medical Devices, and Pierre Fabre Oral Care, this edition brought together nearly 200 in-person participants and about 50 remote participants.

The presentations sparked rich and constructive discussions, demonstrating the students’ commitment, professionalism, and ability to address real-world challenges in health innovation. The evening concluded with a public vote, which served to highlight the collective work of the various groups.

The event then continued with a social gathering that fostered interaction among students, faculty, and professionals, and strengthened the ties between academic education, research, and the socio-economic sector.

The organizers would like to thank all the students for the high quality of their projects, the faculty for their guidance, as well as the event’s partners and sponsors: Pierre Fabre Oral Care, MedVallée, the University of Montpellier Foundation, and ESN by UM.
