Community Pharmacist: A Healthcare Professional at the Heart of the Care Pathway

As an expert in medications, a trusted healthcare professional, and someone who can be consulted without an appointment, the community pharmacist is now a key player in the healthcare system.

Their role is constantly evolving: they prescribe and administer vaccines authorized for use in pharmacies, participate in the screening and prevention of certain conditions, support patients with chronic conditions through pharmaceutical consultations, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals as part of acoordinated care model.

At the School of Pharmacy, approximately 45% of students choose the community pharmacy track each year, drawn to a hands-on profession that involves direct contact with patients and contributes to public health.

Learn about this rapidly evolving profession through the story of Pierre Abécassis, a pharmacist in Roujan.

The School of Pharmacy aims to highlight the wide range of career opportunities available to pharmacy students. With this in mind, we are launching a series of videos showcasing various professions in the field.
