A Look Back at the 43rd Annual Fall Mushroom and Plant Fair

The traditional gathering for mushroom and wild plant enthusiasts took place on October 21 and 22, 2023, at the Institute of Botany. This year’s event, which was held at a different location due to construction work at the faculty, brought together a large audience of mycology and botany enthusiasts.

This exhibition, organized by the Hérault Society of Horticulture and Natural History and the Faculty’s Laboratory of Botany, Phytochemistry, and Mycology, invites us to (re)discover the region’s plant species and learn more about their diversity.

Two lectures (“The Hidden Side of Orchids” by Michel NICOLE and “The Hedgehog Fungus: A Fungus with Neuroprotective Properties” by Dr. Maya CAVALLI) drew a large crowd of enthusiasts.

The inauguration took place in the presence of the president of the University of Montpellier, Prof. Philippe Augé; the director of the UFR, Prof. Vincent Lisowski; Mr. Stéphane Jouault, deputy mayor in charge of urban nature and biodiversity; and the president of the SHNHH, Mr. André Bervillé.
