42nd edition of the Autumn Mushroom and Plant Show

The Salon des Champignons et des Plantes d'Automne, organized by the Société d'Horticulture et d'Histoire Naturelle (SHHNH) de l'Hérault, took place on October 22 and 23. Over 200 fresh mushrooms and 200 fresh plants were on display throughout the weekend. The public was able to benefit from advice and identification by mycologists and botanists from the SHHNH, CEFE and the Faculty of Pharmacy. A collection of insects and minerals was also presented to the public.

Two conferences ("Blobs-trotteurs" - The metamorphosis of Myxomycetes" by Mrs Anne-Marie RANTET-POUX and "First quantified assessment of the introduction of exotic plants in France: between floristic enrichment and threat to biodiversity" by Dr Guillaume FRIED) attracted a large number of enthusiasts.

The inauguration was attended by the President of the University of Montpellier, Pr Philippe Augé, and the Director of the Pharmaceutical and Biological Sciences UFR, Pr Vincent Lisowski. The city of Montpellier was represented by Boris Bellanger, deputy mayor responsible for the Centre district and historical heritage.
