42nd Annual Fall Mushroom and Plant Fair

On October 22 and 23, the Mushroom and Autumn Plants Fair took place, organized by the Hérault Society of Horticulture and Natural History (SHHNH). Throughout the weekend, more than 200 fresh mushrooms and 200 fresh plants were on display. During the event, visitors were able to receive advice and have specimens identified by mycologists and botanists from the SHHNH, the CEFE, and the School of Pharmacy. A collection of insects and minerals was also on display for the public.
Two lectures (“The ‘Blobs-trotteurs’—The Metamorphosis of Myxomycetes” by Ms. Anne-Marie RANTET-POUX and “First Quantitative Assessment of the Introduction of Exotic Plants in France: Between Floristic Enrichment and a Threat to Biodiversity” by Dr. Guillaume FRIED) drew a large crowd of enthusiasts.
The inauguration took place in the presence of the president of the University of Montpellier, Prof. Philippe Augé, and the director of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical and Biological Sciences, Prof. Vincent Lisowski. The city of Montpellier was represented by Mr. Boris Bellanger, deputy mayor in charge of the Centre district and historic heritage.
