The Hospital Pharmacist: A Key Player in the Healthcare System
The School of Pharmacy trains the pharmacists of tomorrow through various programs, includingthe internship program, a track that leads to careers in hospital pharmacy and medical biology. Each year, approximately 30% of our students choose this path, thereby committing themselves to a career in a hospital setting and contributing to patient care within healthcare facilities.
Working in healthcare facilities, hospital pharmacists play a vital role in patient care. Responsible for managing, ensuring the safety of, and optimizing medication regimens, they work closely with medical and nursing teams. Their duties include, in particular:
- The distribution of medications and medical devices to hospital departments.
- Validation of treatment protocols to ensure the effectiveness and safety of treatments.
- Participation in clinical research protocols and the development of new treatments.
- Pharmaceutical care for patients, particularly those with chronic conditions or undergoing complex treatments…
